Thông cáo giải thưởng Alexandre Yersin cho công trình nghiên cứu xuất sắc

Xin thông cáo đến các bạn xa gần rằng Hiệp hội Y khoa Thuỵ Sĩ – Việt Nam mới thiết lập giải thưởng "Alexandre Yersin Prize for Outstanding Publication" để thưởng cho các công trình nghiên cứu xuất sắc được công bố trên các tập san y học trong vòng 2 năm qua. Giải thưởng Alexandre Yersin cho các công trình nghiên cứu xuất sắc 

Chúng tôi hân hạnh khởi xướng Giải thưởng Alexandre Yersin cho các công trình nghiên cứu xuất sắc được thực hiện bởi các nhà nghiên cứu y học Việt Nam. Giải thưởng được sáng lập để tôn xưng Bác sĩ Alexandre Émile-John Yersin (1863 – 1943), một nhà nghiên cứu y học tiền phong ở Việt Nam, và cũng là người đã phát hiện bubonic plague bacillus và Yersinia pestis. Nghiên cứu của ông thể hiện những đóng góp mang tính cơ bản về bệnh dịch và giúp xoá bỏ căn bệnh đã gây cho hàng triệu tử vong trong thế kỉ qua.

1.  Mục tiêu  

Mục tiêu chính của Giải thưởng "Alexendre Yersin Prize" là khuyến khích các nhà nghiên cứu y học ở Việt Nam đóng góp vào y văn quốc tế, và ghi nhận những thành tựu khoa học xuất sắc. Giải thưởng dựa trên công bố quốc tế trong vòng 24 tháng (tính đến ngày trao giải thưởng).

2.  Tổ chức trao giải

3.  Tiêu chuẩn tham dự  

·       Những bài báo khoa học đã được công bố trên các tập san y học trong vòng 24 tháng (tính đến ngày trao giải);

·       Chỉ xem xét những bài "original article" hay "case reports" có dữ liệu gốc;

·       Nghiên cứu phải được thực hiện ở Việt Nam;

·       Ứng viên phải là tác giả đầu và chủ trì (correspondence author) của bài báo, hoặc là "main author" mà đóng góp được ghi rõ trong bài báo.   

(*) Với giải thưởng đầu tiên, thời gian xem xét là 5 năm (thay vì 2 năm).

4.  Tiêu chuẩn đánh giá   

Đánh giá bài báo dựa trên 5 tiêu chuẩn sau đây: phẩm chất khoa học, tầm quan trọng, sự cách tân, tầm ảnh hưởng trong chuyên ngành, và uy tín của tập san. 

Phẩm chất khoa học (tối đa 40 điểm)

·       Giả thuyết và câu hỏi nghiên cứu;

·       Thiết kế nghiên cứu;

·       Cách phát biểu câu hỏi nghiên cứu, mục tiêu nghiên cứu, trình bày kết quả, tính khúc chiết và lí giải dữ liệu.  

Tầm quan trọng (tối đa 20 điểm)

·       Ảnh hưởng đến thực hành lâm sàng;

·       Tiềm năng ảnh hưởng đến chính sách công.

Cách tân (tối đa 20 điểm)

·       Phương pháp và kĩ thuật nghiên cứu; cách tiếp cận bằng thống kê học và diễn giải dữ liệu.

Tầm ảnh hưởng trong khoa học (tối đa 10 điểm)

·       Phản ảnh qua số lần trích dẫn (không tính đến tự trích dẫn);

·       Số lần trích dẫn sẽ được đánh giá dựa trên chỉ số ảnh hưởng của tập san.   

Uy tín của tập san (tối đa 10 điểm)

·       Tập san thuộc một nhà xuất bản hay hiệp hội y khoa chính thống;

·       Các thước đo như Journal impact factor và eigenfactor.

5.  Qui trình

Ứng viên soạn một hồ sơ ngắn bao gồm: 

·       Bản PDF của bài báo khoa học;

·       Một tóm tắt trong vòng 200 chữ, giải thích ý nghĩa, mục tiêu và tầm quan trọng của công trình nghiên cứu;

·       Hồ sơ gởi về văn phòng của HELVIETMED qua email:  Qvnguyen@swissonline.ch.

6.  Hội đồng khoa học  

Hội đồng khoa học được sự tiến cử và phê chuẩn bởi các thành viên trong Helvietmed. Hội đồng gồm 7 chuyên gia độc lập. Trong nhiệm kì 2017-2018, các thành viên là:  

·       Giáo sư Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, Đại học New South Wales, Sydney, Úc.

·       Cựu Giáo sư Vũ Việt Nữ, Đại học Geneva, Thuỵ Sĩ.

·       Cựu Giáo sư Ezio GIACOBINI, Đại học Geneva, Thuỵ Sĩ.

·       Cựu Giáo sư Jean-Pierre KRAEHENBUHL, Giám độc điều hành Health Sciences eTraining Foundation, Lausanne, Thuỵ Sĩ.

·       Gíao sư Huỳnh Đỗ Uyên, Bệnh viện Đại học Bern, Thuỵ Sĩ.

·       Bác sĩ Vincent VINH-HUNG, Bệnh viện Đại học Martinique, Pháp.

·       Bác sĩ Nguyễn Quan Vinh, Fribourg, Thuỵ Sĩ.

7.  Qui trình cho điểm

·       Mỗi thành viên trong Hội đồng khoa học cho điểm dựa trên 5 tiêu chuẩn trên.

·       Thành viên có thể không cho điểm nếu không có chuyên môn thích hợp để cho điểm.

·       Tổng số điểm từ các thành viên sẽ được sử dụng để chọn người được trao giải thưởng. 

8.  Thông cáo  

Thông cáo về giải thưởng sẽ được quảng bá rộng rãi trên các kênh truyền thông phổ thông và truyền thông xã hội như Facebook, blogs, quảng cáo trên các tạp chí ngoài ngành y, Hội Helvietmed và thành viên từ các đại học Việt Nam. Tổng lãnh sự Thuỵ Sĩ cũng sẽ giúp quảng bá giải thưởng đến các nhà chức trách y ế trong nước. 

9.  Lễ trao giải thưởng

Để vinh danh người được trao giải thưởng và Bác sĩ Alexandre Yersin, một buổi lễ trao giải thưởng sẽ được tổ chức cùng với Tổng lãnh sự Thụy Sĩ tại TPHCM. Người được trao giải có thể có dịp trình bày kết quả nghiên cứu trước công chúng, các đồng nghiệp y khoa và các ngành liên quan. Bài báo cáo sẽ được công bố trên mạng của HELVIETMED.

10.  Giá trị  

Có 3 giải thưởng mỗi năm. Mỗi giải thưởng trị giá 30 triệu Đồng.

11.  Thời gian

·       Thời hạn nộp hồ sơ được mở đến ngày 31/12/2017.

·       Kết quả sẽ được tuyên bố qua email vào ngày 28/2/2018.

Alexandre Yersin Prize for Outstanding Publication

We are pleased to launch the Alexandre Yersin Prize for Outstanding Publication for Vietnamese medical researchers. The Prize is named in honor of Dr. Alexandre Émile-John Yersin (1863 – 1943) who was a great pioneer in medical research in Vietnam, and who discovered the bubonic plague bacillus and Yersinia pestis. His research represents fundamental contributions to the etiologic knowledge of plague and helped eliminate the epidemic disease that claimed millions of people over the century.

1.  Goal

The primary goal of the Alexendre Yersin Prize is to encourage medical researchers in Vietnam to make significant contribution to the medical literature, and to recognize outstanding research achievements. The Prize is based on the best publication in the 24 months prior to the closing date of the award.

3.  Eligibility criteria

·       Peer-reviewed papers published or accepted in the 24 months (*) prior to the closing date of the award.

·       Only original articles and/or case reports with new data are considered.

·       Research must be conducted in Vietnam.

·       Candidate must be first author and correspondence author of the published paper(s), or "main author" whose contribution is explicitly specified in the paper.

(*) For the inaugural prize, the duration is 5 years.

4.  Selection criteria 

The evaluation is based on 5 criteria: scientific quality, significance, innovation, scientific impact and journal prestige. 

Scientific quality (max 40 points)

·       Hypothesis-driven research questions;

·       Good research design;

·       Clear formulation of research questions and aims; clear presentation of results; coherent and reasoned interpretation of data.

Practical significance (max 20 points)

·       Impact on clinical practice;

·       Potential impact on public health policy.

Innovation (max 20 points)

·       Originality in technical methods, statistical approaches and interpretation.

Scientific impact (max 10 point)

·       Echo from the scientific community in terms of the number of citations received after publication. Self-citation is not counted;

·       The number of citations will be considered in relation to the journal impact factor.

Journal prestige (max 10 points)

·       Professional society affiliation and/or publisher;

·       Metrics based evaluation: Journal impact factor (IF),  eigenfactor.

5.  Procedure of submission

Candidates are advised to prepare a short dossier that includes:

·       A PDF-version of the paper(s) for consideration;

·       A short non-technical essay (max 200 words) explains the rationale, aim, findings and significance of the paper.

·       The dossier should be addressed by email to the office of HELVIETMED via email:  Qvnguyen@swissonline.ch.

6.  Scientific Committee

The scientific committee,  nominated or invited by Helvietmed, includes seven independent voting members. For the 2017-2018 term, the members are:

·       Professor Tuan V. NGUYEN, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

·       Emeritus Professor  Nu Viet VU, University of Geneva, Switzerland

·       Emeritus Professor  Ezio GIACOBINI, University of Geneva, Switzerland

·       Emeritus Professor Jean-Pierre KRAEHENBUHL, CEO at Health Sciences eTraining Foundation, Lausanne, Switzerland

·       Professor Uyen HUYNH-DO, University Hospital of Bern, Switzerland

·       Dr. Vincent VINH-HUNG, University Hospital of Martinique, France

·       Dr. Quan-Vinh NGUYEN, Fribourg, Switzerland.

7.  Procedure of scoring

·       Each member of the scientific committee performs his/her rating based on the Selection Criteria.

·       A member may abstain from the rating of individual publications if he/she does not have a required expertise for a critical evaluation.

·       The sum of scores obtained from all the rating members will be used to determine the three winners.

8.  Announcement

The announcement of the Prize will be broadcast in all communication channels available: Facebook, blogs, advertisements in non-medical journals, professional networks of Helvietmed members and their colleagues from Vietnamese universities. Help from the Swiss Consulate may be needed to reach other health-related authorities.

9.  Conferring ceremony and presentation of the prize-winning publications

To honor the Prize winner as well as Alexandre Yersin, the prize-giving ceremony will be organized in association with the Swiss Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of the Consul Generalat at a convenient venue.

To honor the authors for their work, we may be organizing a scientific conference in which the authors may present their results to a larger public of  physicians, researchers and other interested circles. The presentation in format powerpoint will also be put on our website.

10.  Value of Prize

There are 3 prizes per year. Each prize is worth 30,000,000 VND.

11.  Time frame

·       Deadline of submission for 2017:  31/12/2017, midnight.

·       Outcome will be announced via email by 28/02/2018.
